FY 2026 First Responders: Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Support Services Act Grant (FR-CARA)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to train first responders and communities in administering and distributing opioid overdose reversal medications (OORMs). Award recipients are expected to provide overdose prevention training and education, engage with their communities and partners, and implement activities aligned with evidence-based practices. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants are states, local governments, and Indian tribes and tribal organizations.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $34.7 million

FY 2026 Mental Health Awareness Training Grants (MHAT)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to help communities implement mental health awareness and literacy training so that school staff, emergency responders, law enforcement, veterans, and caregivers can recognize the signs of mental illness, safely de-escalate crisis situations, and connect people to community resources. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants are states, political subdivisions of states, Indian tribes, tribal organizations, and nonprofit private entities, including faith-based organizations.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $22,045,665

FY 2025-2026 Advanced Transportation Technologies and Innovation (ATTAIN) Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to deploy, install, and operate advanced transportation technologies to improve safety, mobility, efficiency, system performance, intermodal connectivity, and infrastructure return on investment. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants are state or local governments, transit agencies, metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs), or other political subdivisions of a State or local government (such as publicly owned toll or port authorities), or a multijurisdictional group or consortia of research institutions or academic institutions.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $120 million

WHEN IS IT DUE? July 27, 2026

FY 2026 Innovative Coordinated Access and Mobility (ICAM) Pilot Program 

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program provides competitive funding to support innovative capital projects for the transportation disadvantaged that improve the coordination of transportation services and non-emergency medical transportation for older adults, people with disabilities, and people of low income. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants are state departments of transportation, transit designated recipients, and local governmental entities that operate public transportation services, along with their eligible subrecipients.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $11,959,671

WHEN IS IT DUE? September 9, 2026

FY 2026 United States Marine Highway Program (USMHP)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program funds Marine Highway Transportation projects that provide a coordinated and capable alternative to landside transportation, mitigate landside congestion, or promote the use of documented vessels, and that develop, expand, or promote Marine Highway Transportation or shipper use of it. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants include state and local governments, port authorities, metropolitan planning organizations, Tribal governments, and private sector marine highway operators.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $10.8 million
