FY 2026 Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry Challenge Cost Share Grant Program: Community Tree Resource Utilization
WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to advance solutions to the economic, health, and environmental challenges faced by communities, with a focus on advancing Community Tree Resource Utilization, which can reduce waste and create value by turning wood generated from pruning, removals, storm events, and pest or disease outbreaks into useful products. WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations, any U.S. state or territory, local governments, institutions of higher education, and federally recognized tribal organizations.

FY 2026 Bureau of Land Management Threatened and Endangered Species - Bureau wide
WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program supports the conservation and recovery of threatened, endangered, and BLM Sensitive Species and their habitats to help inform a balance of multiple uses of BLM managed lands, including the Nation’s need for domestic sources of energy, minerals, timber, grazing, recreation, and fish and wildlife habitat for future generations. Eligible applicants are state, county, city or township, and special district governments; private, public and state-controlled institutions of higher education; federally recognized Native American tribal governments; Native American tribal organizations; and nonprofit organizations.

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to support the protection, maintenance, and enhancement of wildlife habitat and populations on public lands. Funded projects improve priority habitats, maintain migration and habitat connectivity, and gather data on the status and trends of wildlife species. Click here for more information.

FY 2026 Stopping Threats on Pedestrians Competitive Grant Program (Bollards)
WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to provide financial assistance to state departments of transportation and local government entities for bollard installation projects designed to prevent pedestrian injuries and acts of terrorism in areas used by large numbers of pedestrians. WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants are State Departments of Transportation (State DOTs) and local government entities, including any city, county, town, parish, village, or other general-purpose political subdivision of a state.
