3.3.26 - Public Finance Resources to support Community Finance

NSDA partners with two organizations - The Public Finance Network (PFN) and the Community Impact Coalition with ASAE,  to stay abreast of public finance issues in Congress.  You have received alerts (1.13.26)  in the past year on Tax Exempt Status and other public finance issues.

While there is no imminent legislative action on this issue we wanted you to stay apprised and alert, and ask you to contact your Congressional Delegation requesting general support for Community Finance including:

·       Preserve the existing tax treatment on municipal bonds that build our nation’s infrastructure.

·       Restore tax-exempt advance refunding bonds to allow communities to once again refinance and achieve lower borrowing rates.

·       Modernize the small borrower’s exemption to support affordable finance and market access for our small and rural communities.

·       Support innovative finance through various tools such as private activity bonds (PAB)
