House Republican leadership canceled plans to consider the American Broadband Deployment Act (H.R. 2289) on the House floor this week. The act is opposed by local governments (including USCM, NLC, and NACo) due to language that would preempt local permitting authority over wireless and wireline telecommunications infrastructure.
